3 months forecasts for Daily Rainfall (mm/day) and its Anomalies

Note that the contour lines represent daily rainfall amounts (mm/day) while color shadings represent daily rainfall anomalies. <br><br>




In summarizing the average daily rainfall forecast for the combined months in Jan-Feb-Mar 2020, it is clear from the forecast product shown above that land areas of Southern Region, including Oro Province and some parts of  Southern Highlands Province are expected to experience NORMAL daily rainfall. <br><br>

Milne Bay Province : It’s worth noting here that Rossel island, Misima island and the ambient atolls surrounding these to islands are expected to experience an anomalous drought during the forecast period, Jan-Feb-Mar 2020. <br><br>

NORMAL to ABOVE NORMAL daily rainfall is predicted for Morobe Province. <br><br>


ABOVE NORMAL daily rainfall is forecasted for Madang Province and is expected to be the wettest province in Jan-Feb-Mar 2020 – thus, occasional flooding events are likely to occur in Madang. <br><br>

East/West Sepik should expect ABOVE NORMAL daily rainfall. <br><br>

With some parts of Southern Highlands expected of experiencing NORMAL daily rainfall, the rest of Highlands Region is expected to experience ABOVE NORMAL daily rainfall. <br><br>

Almost all of West New Britain is expected to experience NORMAL daily rainfall. However, Siassi Islands including Sagsag and the ambient areas and islands are expected to experience ABOVE NORMAL daily rainfall. <br><br>

ABOVE NORMAL daily rainfall is predicted for East New Britain, New Ireland, Manus Province and Bougainville. <br><br>
